PROJECT GUIDES
Recessed convector installation planning
Coordinate the recess before the floor is finished
A recessed convector installation depends on the relationship between the unit, the structural floor and the finished surface. Start with a section drawing showing the glazing line, floor build-up and available recess. Use the installation drawing for the selected SOODIA Hydronic Trench Convectors model rather than a generic depth from another product. This page is a planning checklist for the project team, not a substitute for the selected model’s installation instructions.
Show clear dimensions and service routes
Provide the clear recess length, width and depth, with dimensions referenced to the finished floor. Show the proposed supply and return pipe routes, connection side and the space needed to reach service components. Identify nearby structural elements and thresholds so the enclosure can be reviewed before site work. Do not assume that the heat exchanger dimensions are the overall casing dimensions or that a nominal product height includes every installation allowance.
Coordinate the grille and air path
The grille is the visible junction between the convector and the room. Confirm its appearance and how it meets the adjacent flooring. Keep the intended air inlet and outlet clear of furniture, curtains and other finishes. Ask for the selected grille’s suitability for the project’s access and loading requirements; do not infer a load rating from a photograph. Arrange service access so routine inspection does not depend on removing permanent surrounding finishes.
Confirm the system before installation approval
For Natural Convection, coordinate the water connections and access with the selected model. For Fan-Assisted Heating, also confirm the electrical supply, controls and service access for the fan assembly. For Heating and Cooling, obtain model-specific requirements for insulation and moisture management. Send the marked-up section, floor plan, operating temperatures and quantity with your enquiry. Where a standard casing cannot fit, use the custom-convector brief rather than changing dimensions on site without review.
